Kendra Heslip is an avid soloist, chamber musician, and educator of classical and contemporary music. As a soloist, Kendra has performed across Canada and the United States, participating in competitions such as the William Byrd Young Artist Competition, Canadian Music Competition, Orchestre Symphonique de Montréal, National Lima Symphony Orchestra Young Artist Competition, University of Alberta Concerto Competition, and the Northern Alberta Concerto Competition. She completed her undergraduate studies in Saxophone Performance at the University of Alberta under Dr. Allison Balcetis and Dr. William Street. Kendra has also attended multiple sessions at the Frederick L. Hemke Saxophone Institute and the American Saxophone Academy. Additionally, she earned a Master of Music degree from Bowling Green State University under the direction of Dr. John Sampen, where she also served as a graduate teaching assistant.

As a chamber musician and collaborator, Kendra has been a member of various ensembles such as the University of Alberta Saxophone Quartet and the Ultraviolet Saxophone Quartet. She has competed in prestigious chamber music competitions such as the Plowman Competition and the Fischoff National Chamber Music Competition. Currently, Kendra is a member of the Edmonton Saxophone Quartet and works as a band director, performer, and clinician in Edmonton, Alberta.

In her work in music education, Kendra has held teaching contracts with the Edmonton Public School Board, Edmonton Catholic School Division, and the University of Alberta. In recognition of her enthusiasm and commitment to inspiring a passion for music in students, Kendra was awarded the Keith Mann Young Band Director Award in 2022.
